Issue #10 - secret security networks and 9/11

You don’t have to be a “conspiracy theorist” to know that the CIA is operating in the United States. (The CIA is not supposed to be involved in domestic surveillance.) In his book “Don’t Start the Revolution without Me”, former Minnesota Governor, Jesse Ventura, tells how, shortly after he became Governor, he was summoned to a meeting in the State Capitol basement with 23 CIA agents who grilled him on details of his election. The former Governor disclosed that a CIA agent is permanently employed in Minnesota state government to keep an eye on things. One would assume that the same is true of other state governments.

President Obama, too, seemed to confirm the existence of secretive networks within the federal government when asked in an interview with a Philadelphia talk show host, Michael Smerconish, about the so-called “Book of Secrets” which allegedly contains undisclosed information about the Kennedy assassination, Area 51, and other sensitive subjects. When Smerconish asked the President what was in this book, Obama joked: “I would tell you, but I’d (then) have to kill you.” One gets the impression that even Presidents are subject to violence if they reveal too much. If JFK could be assassinated, so might any President be.

Regarding the Kennedy assassination, Howard Hunt, thinking he was on his death bed, told his son. St. John Hunt, how the CIA had carried out the operation at Lyndon Johnson’s request. The alleged chief strategist, another high-ranking CIA official named Cord Meyer, indicated shortly before his own death that he knew who had killed his former wife, Mary, in October 1964 - “the same sons of bitches that killed John F. Kennedy”, he said. It wasn’t Lee Harvey Oswald.

By far, the most important “conspiracy” needing to be investigated is the mass destruction that occurred on September 11, 2001, which became a trigger for the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the continuing war in Afghanistan. The official 9/11 Commission report is so obviously false in so many details that a new investigation is warranted. Why, for instance, did a structure that was not hit by an airplane at all - Building Seven - fall into its foundation on the same day if jet-fuel fires caused the collapse of the Twin Towers? Why was molten steel found under the rubble if fires at the top of the buildings caused their collapse?

We Americans need to know the truth about those events, however damaging the information might be to certain reputations.

(This is an area where we have differences with both Democrats and conservative Republicans, and also with the commercial media.)
